Our client is a major service provider in the European telecommunications/multi-media space. The company is implementing a new NGN and SOFNET service platform to deliver its next generation digital media services. A Director of Regulatory Affairs is now required to join the management team and advise the Board on all matters relating to licensing, regulation and public policy.

The Company

This company is a major player in the International telecoms sector and an innovator in NGN and convergent technologies. The Board is seeking an experienced executive to direct the company’s government regulations policy.

The Opportunity

The Director of Regulatory Affairs will advise the Board on all matters relating to licensing, regulation and public policy in the UK. You will work closely with the management team to interpret the group’s business strategy and scope its policy with regard to the licensing of existing and future communications and multi -media services. This will include:

Developing a deep understanding of Government policy toward the licensing and regulation of public services in the UK media industry.
Working with OFCOM and the relevant government agencies to communicate group strategy.

The Candidate

You will currently be working as a legal advisor or government affairs officer in a medium-sized or large technology, utilities or energy/power company. You are seeking a fresh challenge and looking to head up an important new department within a large successful telecoms/ multi-media group.

Your Credentials

You will possess a sound understanding of the International telecommunications and multi-media technology industry.
Previous experience in a similar role within a large technology, utilities or energy/power company.
Excellent communicator and experience in public speaking and presentations an advantage.
Law degree plus commercial qualification.
