Mobile Telecommunications

Our client is a leading mobile service provider based in the UK with a number of overseas subsidiaries and joint ventures. The group ranks no: 1 or no: 2 in each of its markets and is looking to expand its portfolio of properties either by acquisition or organic growth. The company now seeks a Group Project Director to oversee a growing project team.

The Company

This company is a leader in the provision of wireless broadband voice and multi-media services. The Board is seeking to strengthen its project/programme management capability by creating a separate expert group within its head office organisation.

The Opportunity

The Group Project Director will assume responsibility for the entire network/technology development programme and provide leadership to the existing project/programme management team. This will include:

Working with the group strategy team to interpret their technology requirements in respect of network upgrades, enhancements and new build programmes.
The Development of detailed project plans encompassing these technology requirements and managing programmes to time and budget.
Evaluate communications and IT architecture and Identifying appropriate technology solutions.

The Candidate

You will currently be working as a project/programme manager or director in a recognised mobile telecoms organisation. You are seeking a fresh challenge and looking to head up an important new department within a large successful telecoms/ multi-media group.

Your Credentials

You will possess a sound understanding of the International telecommunications and multi-media technology industry.
Previous experience in a project management role within a recognised telecoms company will be crucial.
A deep understanding of wireless and mobile communications access, core and backhaul technologies including 3G/HSPA/LTE, Wimax, Microwave/fibre and Wi-Fi.
Electronics/Electrical Engineering degree plus project/programme management qualifications.
